News update - 2017

We are very happy to anounce that the following FUSION-DC student has successfully defended his doctoral thesis in 2017:

- Petr Grigorev: "Assessment of Retention of Plasma Components in Tungsten under High Flux Plasma Exposure: Multi-Scale Modelling Approach", this was a joint research project between Ghent University in Belgium and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain.

- YangYang Zhang: " Three-dimensional physics in reversed field pinch and stellarator", this was a joint research project between Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain and Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy.

- Maceina Tautvydas: "Development of innovative methods and tools for real-time control system in fusion devices", this was a joint research project between Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain and Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy.

- Toon Weyens: "3D Ideal Linear Peeling Ballooning Theory in Magnetic Fusion Devices", this was a joint research project between Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain and University of Technology Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

 

News update - 2016

We are very happy to anounce that the following FUSION-DC students have successfully defended their doctoral thesis in 2016:

- LingFeng Lu: "Modelling of plasma-antenna coupling and non-linear radio frequeny wave-plasma-wall interactions in the magnetized plasma device under ion cyclotron range of frequencies", this was a joint research project between Université de Lorraine in France and Ghent University in Belgium.

- Bing Liu: "Electromagnetic Properties of Edge Turbulence in Fusion Plasma Devices", this was a joint research project between Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain and Università degli Studi di Padova in Italy.

- Ondrej Kudlacek: "Real time plasma state monitoring", this was a joint research project between Università degli Studi di Padova in Italy and Instituto Superior Técnico - Universidade de Lisboa in Portugal.

- Aqsa Shabbir: "Pattern recognition in probability spaces for the analysis of plasma regimes and scaling laws in fusion devices",  this was a joint research project between Ghent University in Belgium and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in Germany.

- Nathan Lemahieu: "Investigation of tungsten exposed to fusion relevant intense H/He particle fluxes and thermal loads", this was a joint research project between Ghent University in Belgium and Universität Stuttgart in Germany.

 

News update - October 2015

We are very happy to announce that the first two FUSION-DC students have successfully defended their doctoral thesis:

- Luxherta Buzi, "Influence of the Particle Flux on Surface Modifications of Tungsten", this was a joint research project between Ghent University in Belgium and Université de Lorraine in France.

- Hugo Arnichand, "Identification of Trapped Electron Modes (TEM) in Frequency Fluctuation Spectra of Fusion Plasmas", this was a joint research project between Aix-Marseille Université, France and Ghent University, Belgium.
